Building Strong Foundations for Lifelong Learning and Well-Being
Our impact is measured by one central outcome: whether children are developing, learning, and thriving during the most critical years of life.
Our work focuses on preventing developmental delays and strengthening the environments surrounding children, including families, caregivers, teachers, nutrition systems, and community support structures, so that every child has the opportunity to reach their full developmental potential.
Through our integrated ECD Model, we are helping children build stronger foundations for learning, health, emotional well-being, and future opportunity across underserved communities in Tanzania.
Why this Matters?
The early years of life shape brain development, learning capacity, emotional well-being, and future opportunity. Without adequate nutrition, nurturing care, responsive caregiving, and quality early learning opportunities, children risk developmental delays that affect educational achievement, health, and long-term economic outcomes. TECEC works during this critical window to ensure children receive the holistic support needed to stay developmentally on track before delays become permanent.

Our communities share how TECEC is helping children and families thrive
Story
At Shadi Health Center, little Grace, age 3, used to sit quietly during clinic visits, shy and not talking to anyone. Things changed when her mother started using the Early Stimulation Corner. With the help of staff, she learned fun ways to play with Grace using songs, picture books, and simple games during health check-ups.
Now Grace is full of life. She plays happily with other children, talks with confidence, and loves to explore new things. Her mother says those few minutes of play each week have made a big difference in her daughter’s learning and confidence.

Before TECEC came, my classroom was silent. The children sat at their desks while I read lessons aloud. They were bored and learning very little
Story
“Now, after the transformation, my classroom is full of life and play. Children tell stories, and solve problems together. I see them growing confident, curious, and ready for primary school. As a teacher, this change brings me joy, I’m not just teaching; I’m helping children truly thrive before even their primary education.”

Mary, a mother, previously struggled to understand how to support her children’s development beyond basic care
Story
After attending TECEC’s parenting workshops and practical session at the Childcare learning hub, Mary learned how to play, talk, sing, and bond with her children to support their learning and emotional growth. She also adopted better nutrition and hygiene practices at home. Today, her children are thriving, curious, confident, and showing clear progress in early literacy, social skills, and overall health. Mary now shares what she’s learned with neighbors, spreading the benefits across her community.
