ABOUT the project
“Tuwaandae Pamoja” is a Swahili phrase meaning “Let’s Prepare Children together”.
The project seeks to address the problem of limited access to quality early learning and early childcare in Tanzania, particularly in underserved communities, as young children lack early childhood cognitive and social-emotional stimulation, health and nutritious diet support.

Currently, the organization is working to scale up this activity by train and supporting parents, caregivers and pre-school teachers to design local, friendly and safe early learning and playing material by using recyclable materials that will help young children to build early years foundation for literacy and numeracy, promoting brain development, imagination, and emotions.
PROJECT SCALE-UP GOALS
In the next 12 months starting from December 2023 the scaleup goals is to complete the following key activities for the Tuwaandae Pamoja project:
Providing early learning and playing materials at public pre-schools and for families and empower parents and caregivers to dedicate 30 minutes to play and learn with the child every day aiming to reach up to 100,000 people over 12 months.
Tanzania Early Childhood Education and Care have secured land to build a Training centre which will offer parenting workshops, classes, and resources focusing on effective parenting techniques, child development, and early learning strategies. Parents, caregivers and others early child practitioners will learn important skills to promote the overall well-being and development of children.
Supporting health and providing highly nutritious meals for pregnant women, their new- borns and public preschool children.
Scaling the technology and business solutions that provide critical nutrients/food for malnourished communities, to ensure that every meal, for every mother and child, contains lifesaving nutrients.

Tanzania Early Childhood Education and Care will establish a robust monitoring and evaluation system to track the progress of the project, collect data on outcomes, and make informed decisions for program improvement.
